Sacramento DIY Fertilizer Fund
Below is some basic information on the Sacramento DIY Fertilizer Fund. If you need more info, email: sacdiyff@gmail.com
What is it? A small gift/grant program to help out independent DIY projects in and around the Sacramento area - underground music, arts, cultural, politics and unconventional stuff outside the mainstream. Amounts given out will range from $200-800 depending on what you need, what we can help with, and how many people apply.
Where? Sacramento and surrounding areas. If you are in Davis, Stockton, Placerville, don’t let the SAC scare you off.
When? In 2025, requests will be taken starting in early May and we will give out grants until we run out of funds. Last year, all available funds were distributed in a couple of weeks.
How? Submit a request for funds to sacdiyff@gmail.com and let us know what you are working on, how much money might help you out, and how you plan on using the $$$. Let us know what your project in a way that works for you and helps us understand what you are doing and how some extra money might help you accomplish your goals. We may not be able to totally fund your request, but will help out as able. It does not need to be a formal grant request - if you like writing, send us some words explaining, OR use video or audio, OR graphics and visuals.
Why? Money is shit. And, it also can help make cool shit happen. Money can serve as fertilizer for the seeds you plant and the work you put in to make great stuff grow around Sacramento.
2020 and 2021 and 2022 and 2023 and 2024 were rough years for people doing independent music, art, cultural, and political stuff (2025 looks to be even more of the same). This is a small effort to share some resources with a goal of helping more good stuff happen around Sacramento.
Who: Just some folks who want to do something good by helping others do good stuff. What's next: After 2025, SacDIYff will be pause for at least a year or two as all available resources will be used to focus on a specific project. After that, who knows?
